There comes a time in every fan's life where they love something that no one else seems to. (Or no one that you know seems to not know about the thing you are obsessed with... did that make any sense?)

Anyhoo, to tell the truth I can't remember how the hell I came to find this movie, but I did and now I'm hooked. What is this movie you say? (If you've been around me for the past few days, you probably have an iea what I'm about to say)

That's right: RE-ANIMATOR.

The goretastic, bloody, sex-filled cult classic starring Jeffrey Combs as the (sexy) young mad scientist Herbert West. Here's a plot summary:

Re-Animator is a film based off of 'Herbert West - Reanimator', the H P Lovecraft short story (THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE HERE, WHAT THE HELL). It's also a very Frankenstein-like movie. A young scientist creates a serum called the 'reagent' (which resembles someone filled a glass vial with yellow highlighter and then dropped it off at a nuclear test facility) which is able to bring the dead back to life. Of course, shit doesn't always go as it's supposed to go down and it hits the fan. People injected with the reagent are transformed into zombie-like people (they still have *some* intelligent thought process' including a cat (long story, yet memorable scene).

I digress, I'm getting off track; in the middle of all this is a medical student (who ends up getting stuck with West as a roommate) named Dan Cain, who is a sane man in a world of crazy people. As he struggles with the temptation with the defeat of death, he also tries to keep his relationship - with the Dean of his medical school's daughter, Meghan- and a promising school record/future career opportunities from slipping away.

I SWEAR THAT DAN AND HERBERT ARE TOTALLY GAY FOR EACH OTHER. I DON'T CARE IF DAN SLEEPS WITH WIMMINZ AND HERBERT IS SO ASEXUAL THAT HIS DICK IS PROBABLY MADE OF STONE BY NOW FROM LACK OF USE - THEY. ARE. GAY. FOR EACH OTHER. (secretly)

Maybe it's the slash tinted glasses that I view the world with, but it's true. (There should be more slash of them in the world, it is sadly lacking) Not to mention that Herbert seems to have a permanent 'B|' face plastered on him.

SEGWAY TO DIFFERENT TOPIC:

'The Frighteners' is the shit. It's a movie by Peter Jackson (BEFORE the LOTR film!trilogy was created) so back in 1996, it has Michael J Fox (the guy from Back to the Future if you didn't know. TAYLOR YOU MUST WATCH THIS MOVIE) as Frank Bannister: a man who claims to be able to see ghosts and communicate with them. The thing is: HE CAN. The bastard actually has the ability to see dead people and what the fuck does he do with this ability? CONS PEOPLE. HE'S A FUCKING CON MAN. He gets the ghosts that live in his house to haunt people so that he can 'exorcise' them.

Then of course, shit hits the fan (as always). The Grim Reaper appears to fuck everyone's shit up and starts to kill people - but not randomly. Numbers appear on their forehead which only Bannister is able to see. ENTER HEROIC MOMENT TIME IN WHICH FRANK BANNISTER DECIDES NOT TO BE A CONNING FUCKHEAD AND SAVE THE DAY.

Plus, Jeffrey Combs pops in the movie to just be awesome and steal every scene he's in
as Special Agent Milton Dammers of the FBI. An agent who sacrificed his sanity for the good of his country by going undercover in different sects and cults - the problem? THE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T FUCKING UNPROGRAM HIM, HIS BRAIN IS AS FUCKED UP AND TWISTED AS CHARLES MANSON EATING A PRETZEL. So needless to say, he's pretty... eccentric. (Poor woobie )
